Recently we’ve been scanning the archive of original Optigan® documents saved by Stan Cutler, one of company engineers. There are lots of interesting things amongst these papers. This document (in pdf format) written by Carl Nelson is particularly interesting, as it describes a prototype mechanical system for finding smooth audio loop points on lengths of tape- something that we do in seconds on a computer these days.
